Designed and presented on AM Northwest by Deborah Spofford

Quilting

Sew down the middle of each strip.

Sew an X in the middle of each block.

Instructions

Note:  All seam allowances are 5/8 inch.  All seams are wrong sides together. Press all seams open.

1.  Sew three different strips of flannel together.  Press seams open.  Cut into blocks 7” long.  Repeat this step for all the remaining strips of fabric.  Note:  You will need 31 of these striped blocks- finished size will be 6 1/2 x 7”.

2.  Arrange the pieces in rows of 7 blocks alternating solid block (B) with striped block (SB).  Stitch the blocks together to make 9 rows.  Stitch the rows together to make the quilt.

3.  Stitch around the outside edge of the quilt.

4.  Make small cuts in all of the seam allowances about ¼” apart.  Clip the outside edges the same way.  Be careful not to clip through the seams.

5.  Wash the quilt in cold water.  Shake loose any threads.  Place in the dryer.  Remove the quilt a few times as it is drying and shake excess threads from quilt.
