and Author for the Creative Industry Here are seven kid friendly craft projects
that will provide hours of entertainment during Christmas break, slumber
parties, birthday parties, or scout meetings. Supplies for the Notebooks: Bright colored notebooks
or report folders Felt – bright
colors Peel
n Stick™ double sided adhesive by Therm o
Web Scissors Instructions: 1. Apply
Peel n Stick™ to the back of all felt pieces. 2. Cut
out felt shapes (flowers, letters, sport symbols, sun, star, moon,
etc…) 3. Peel
the paper backing off the felt shapes and stick them to the front of
the notebooks. Supplies for the Wire Bookmarks 18
gauge Fun Wire™ from Toner Plastics, Inc™ (bright colors) Variety
of glass or decorative beads Needle
nose wire cutters Ruler Instructions: 1. Cut
a piece of wire 12” long. 2. Make
a tight curl at one end of the wire. 3. Slide
a bead onto the wire from the bottom and place it underneath the curl. 4. Bend
the rest of the wire in a zig zag pattern. 5. Bend
the other end of the wire into another tight curl. 6. Lay
the bookmark on a flat surface and press the wire flat. Supplies for the Tennis Shoe charms 1” wire
charm hoops or other jewelry clasp Variety
of small glass or decorative beads Silver,
pewter, or gold charms (many designs to choose from) Needle
nose pliers Instructions: 1. Slide
beads and charms onto the jewelry hoop or clasp. 2. Secure
the beads and charms onto the hoop with needle nose pliers. 3. Attach
the shoe charm to your tennis shoe. Supplies for the Paint Palette Jewelry
Holder 7” plastic
bubble paint palette ZIG Painty® fine
tip makers by EK Success (many colors to choose from) Instructions: 1. Open
paint markers and shake. Push
the tip of the maker down several times until the paint fills the tip. 2. Draw
designs on the paint palette with the markers. Let dry. 3. Fill
the bubbles with earrings, necklaces, or rings. Supplies for the Picture Frame Earring

7” Wooden picture frame Wooden
easel Wire
screen (purchase at a Home Improvement Store) Acrylic
paint (color of your choice) Paint
Brushes Beaded
ribbon trim (long enough to
go around the perimeter of your frame) Decorations
such as buttons, appliqué flowers, etc... Instructions:
1.
Open the back of the picture frame and
remove the glass.
2.
Cut a piece of wire screen the same size
as the glass.
3.
Replace the glass with the piece of screen
and glue it into the back of the frame.
4.
Paint the frame, easel, and wire screen
with acrylic paint. Let dry.
5.
Glue the beaded trim around the perimeter
of the frame.
6.
Decorate the frame with buttons or appliqués.
7.
Place the frame on the easel

Hang earrings in the wire screen. Supplies for the Decorative Picture

glue gun and glue sticks Instructions:
1.
Paint the wooden frame. Let
dry.
2.
Paint designs on the front of the frame
to coordinate with the picture you are going to place in the frame i.e.
basketball, car racing, dance, tennis, baseball etc…Let dry.
3.
Choose buttons that go with your theme. Cut
the shank off the back of the buttons and arrange them on the front of
the frame. Glue the buttons in place.
4.
Place your picture in the back of the
frame.
5.
Place the frame on an easel or hang it
on the wall. Supplies for the Wooden Letters Wooden
letters of your choice (spell child’s name or other words) Acrylic
paint (Choose colors that coordinate with the child’s bed room) Paint

paper Instructions:
1.
Sand the rough edges off of the wooden
letters. Wipe the letters with
a damp cloth to remove the dust.
2.
Paint the wooden letters with acrylic
paint.
3.
Outline the letters with a silver or
gold leafing pen.
4.
Decorate the front of the letters with
buttons. Cut the shank off the
back of each button and glue them onto the letters. 5. Hang the letters on the wall or place them on the top of a dresser.
