Create beautiful glass art easily with a few simple materials.

Materials:

8” clear plate

Gold holographic paper (two designs)

Gold jump rings (one package)

Liquid Laminate™ by Beacon™

Swirl paper punch ( 1 ½”)

Navy Blue mulberry paper

Scissors

plastic cup (to hold plate while you work on it)

Instructions

Prepare.  Wash and dry the plate.  Cover work surface with plastic.

Cut Mulberry paper.  Cut a piece of Mulberry paper large enough to cover the plate.

Cut and punch Gold paper shapes.  Punch out five swirls of one gold holographic paper and four of the other holographic paper.  Cut eight triangles (1 1/4” x 1” x 1”).  Cut eight pieces (1/4” x 2”) of holographic paper that is different from the triangle paper.

Decoupage.  Squirt the back side of the plate with a thick coat of Liquid laminate™.  Use a paint brush to spread it around.

Add the paper shapes.  Arrange the swirls in the center of the plate alternating every other one with a different holographic design.  Place eight in a circle and one in the center.  Arrange the triangles and paper strips around the outside edge of the plate.  Alternating triangle, strip, triangle, strip.  Cover the paper shapes with laminate.

Add the fibers.  Lay the fun fibers (one at a time) randomly on the back of the plate.  Press the fibers into the laminate in several places so they stay in place.  Hint:  Don’t over work the design.  Just lay the fibers down and let them fall naturally on the charger.  Layer the fibers…first purple, then white, then green.

Add more Liquid Laminate™.  Squirt more laminated over the fibers.

Add the paper backing.  Place the mulberry paper over the back of the charger.  Soak the paper with laminate and smooth with a paint brush.  Work air bubbles from the middle to the outside edges.  If necessary poke air bubbles with a needle and smooth with the brush.  Do not over work the paper.

Trim the edges.  Cut the excess paper off of the charger.  Press the paper edges tight against the lip of the charger.

Let the charger dry.  Set the charger on top of a plastic cup so the edges can dry.  Dry over night.

Add more laminate.  Coat the back of the charger with two more coats of laminate.  Let dry between each coat.

Hand wash the surface of the charger.
