Instructions

  1. Choose a game that is one of your family favorites.  I used a checker board and a Risk board to make samples of this project.  Measure the game board and cut a piece of 3/4 inch MDF the same size as the game board.

  1. Cut four trim pieces to frame the MDF.

  1. Apply wood glue to the trim pieces.

  1. Use a nail gun or carpenter nails to attach the trim. Place the trim so that it is about 1/4 inch above the top of the MDF boards. Let the frame dry for a few hours.

  1. While the frame is drying, seal all raw fold lines on the game board with Mod Podge. This will prevent the gloss finish from seeping under the paper on the game board. Wipe excess MP from the board surface. Let dry.

  1. Apply painters tape to the frame of the board. Spray the MDF with adhesive.

  1. Place the game board into the frame. Press the board firmly to the MDF.

  2. Mix EnviroTex as directed on the packaging. Follow the instructions exactly for best results. Pour the finish over the top of the board and smooth with a craft stick. Let dry.

  1. Attach the leg plates to the bottom of the board.

  1. Attach one leg to each plate.

Turn table right side up and place it in your family room.  I would suggest making a small cloth bag to hold the game pieces.  Hang the bag from a cup hook on the bottom of the table.
