Daisy Accessories for Teen Room

 

 

Add color and a bit of whimsy to any teen room with just a few easy projects.  Below you will find the instructions to make a daisy light chain, storage basket, curtain, and a bulletin board.  

Daisy Light Chain

Supply list

Indoor light set – 20 lights per string

20 artificial daisy flowers

Glue dots

Hole punch

Scissors

Instructions

  1. Remove the stem from one flower.  Pull the dark green plastic backing off the flower.  Separate the flower petals and remove the clear plastic disc.
  2. Punch a hole in the center of the dark green plastic flower back. 

  1. Place the green plastic backing over the first light.

 

 

  1. Place each of the flower petals over the light bulb adding a glue dot between each layer. 

  1. Repeat this step for each of the 20 lights on the string.    

 

Storage Basket

Supply List

Set of three baskets in a variety of sizes.

Ribbon

One Daisy Flower for each basket    

Instructions

1.      Tie a piece of ribbon around the center of the basket and a bow.  Hot glue a daisy flower to the basket at the center of the bow.  Repeat this step for each basket.

 

Bulletin Board

Supply List

Framed Cork Board

¾” wide ribbon

Two daisy flowers

Double stick tape runner

Scissors

Hot glue gun

Instructions

1.      Cut two pieces of ribbon ½” longer than the width of the board.  Cut two pieces of ribbon ½” longer than the height of the board.  Apply a line of double stick tape across the bottom width of the board about 1” from the frame. Press a piece of ribbon onto the tape.  Trim the edges.  Repeat this step along the height of the board.  Alternate adding the ribbon to the board between width and height.    

2.      Take two daisy flowers apart so the petals are loose. Stack the petals in alternating colors and glue each in place with hot glue. Glue a button to the center of the flower. Glue the flower to the board where the ribbons cross.  

Daisy Curtain

Supply List

Sheer lace curtain with tab tops

6 daisy flowers- (one for each tab)  

Dot ribbon – 3 pieces 7 ½” long

Rickrack – 3 pieces 10” long

Hot glue gun

6 -  1/12” buttons

6 – ½” button

 

Instructions  

1.      Hot glue a piece of rickrack to the bottom of a curtain tab. Cover and glue a button over the top of the rickrack.  Glue a smaller button to the top of the first larger button.
 

2.      Glue a flower to the bottom of the rickrack.



3.      Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each curtain tab
